Routine guide
Habit stacking, without the burnout
The wellness industry sold habit stacking and forgot the second half of the sentence: without the burnout. Most stacks fail not because they are wrong, but because they are too many. A morning routine that takes 90 minutes is not a routine. It is a job. This guide is the case for the inverse: small, durable, repeatable. Stacks that compound.
I.
The rule of three.
Three habits, stacked. That is the maximum a person can install in a season. Anything more is wishful thinking. Three is enough to compound. Three is small enough to survive a bad week.
II.
How a stack actually works.
Stacking means pairing a new behavior with an existing one. The new one piggybacks on the old. The old one is the anchor. Examples:
- Coffee → Collagen. You already drink coffee. Add a scoop of Collagen Creamer (Vanilla) to it. Two weeks and it is automatic.
- Brushing teeth → Probiotic. You already brush. After brushing, take Probiotic 20 Billion with the first drink of water.
- Setting the alarm → Magnesium. You already set the alarm. Right after, take Magnesium Glycinate.
Three anchors. Three additions. That is the whole framework.
III.
The mistakes that cause burnout.
- Adding too many at once. A six-habit stack does not survive a stressful week. A three-habit stack does.
- Buying without a system. Eight bottles, no plan, no consistency. Match the supplements to the stack, not the other way around.
- Skipping the anchor. A new habit without an existing anchor has no scaffolding. It collapses on day three.
- Optimizing too early. The first 90 days are about consistency. Optimization is what you do at month four.
IV.
A 30-day stack.
Week 1. One supplement. One anchor. One time. That is the entire prescription.
Week 2. Same. Confirm it is automatic before you add anything.
Week 3. Add the second. New anchor.
Week 4. Add the third. Hold for 60 days before adding a fourth.
